It might be time for another English update.
So, the puppies are born and doing very nicely. They turned 5 weeks old on Monday so they'll be heading to new homes after two weeks. I have two quite sure candidates for my new puppy to be. They're both females as I reserved a bitch before they were born. There's all in all seven puppies in the litter; two males and five females. There's a lot of pictures of them in earlier entries.
Two months ago I lost my first dog, the Sheltie Hista. She was 12 years old and she suffered from kidney failure. As it is incurable disease with dogs, she was put to sleep in 11th April after almost a week's diarrhea and vomiting. Hista left a huge empty slot into my heart as she was my first pet and the best friend of my teenage years.
My parents got a new Sheltie puppy quite quickly. The yearn for it was placed years ago, but it wasn't possible to get one earlier. And in the end Hista being sick couldn't bear a little puppy buzzing around. But when Hista's condition got radically worse and it began to seem that she wouldn't make it to Easter we started to arrange a new baby accommodate her old place so it wouldn't be so empty when she would be gone. And so, just before April turning to May, we got Nekku. She is a bright little tricolour Sheltie kid from Savukoski.
Hista was buried last Sunday. Earlier wasn't possible because of frozen earth. She was buried to the grounds of my parents' new house yet to be built. Her grave is a pretty little grove in the back of the yard. It will be quiet and peaceful there even when the constructing is going on. She will have a rose planted there just under three birch trees. I'm sure it'll be a lovely place.
The blog will be going through some new layout processes. At the moment you see a temporary layout and I am experiencing on new colourings and stuff. The blog itself will probably change its name and address. The current name refers to Belgies and a Sable coloured Sheltie (Of the Darkmasked and the Foxtailed) but as I chat a lot about Nekku and the name really hasn't room for her, I guess I'll be changing it.
Next time I'm updating this blog in English I believe I have had my little Belgie for a while as the time goes by unbelievably quickly. So see you later!
